The works were selected by a panel with this brief in mind, and to emphasise and showcase the diversity of art works in both style and mediums, yet all derived from the same inspirational source. It is not intended to be a collection of the best, and certainly not all of the artists of this stature in the nation, but as an indication of the potential which is in the wider art community. It brings together artists who are dedicated wildlife artists with those who would perhaps never consider themselves as such, but who derive their inspiration from the same source. Hence the analogy with the WAMA tree inside the cover. It is an indication of a potential way forward in collaboration and with artistic recognition of our source of inspiration.
This book, as it developed, became a stunning collection of inspired art and essays, the like of which has not been attempted before for such a purpose, and WAMA is justifiably proud of its first publication in the international field of art books. We are very honoured to have the foreword penned by Robert Purves AM, who is very supportive of this project. The book is now available for sale, and we are very grateful to all the artists for donating the rights to their art and images for WAMA to create this wonderful book, and use the profits for its fund raising.
