Wama Art Exhbition

WAMA is excited to bring you this very special exhibition, Inspiration Wild: Foundation Artists 6 Years On, showcasing a broad selection of nationally and internationally recognised artists from Australia who are deeply inspired in their artwork by the natural environment.

These artists originally featured in WAMA’s inaugural publication Inspiration Wild: An Artistic Celebration of Nature and Environment.

Six years on, these Foundation Artists have come together for this virtual exhibition, reminding the viewer of not only the importance, but beauty of nature, Australia’s natural environment and its inhabitants, curated by Queensland based wildlife artist and WAMA Senior Art Advisor Dr. Pete Marshall.

Nature inspired art is a strong theme throughout the exhibition, with both realism and interpretative art offset by more contemporary works in a variety of mediums and conceptual frameworks of our Australian landscape.

To complement these Foundation artists, two indigenous artists have been invited to exhibit their work also. Paul Bong and Daniel O’Shane are deeply inspired by their culture to tell and record their cultural stories in intriguing and thought-provoking ways through their art. Both highly acclaimed artists, their work hangs in Parliament House and The National Gallery of Australia in Canberra.

WAMA’s online art exhibition, INSPIRATION WILD: FOUNDATION ARTISTS 6 YEARS ON, is available for viewing from the 19th October until  30th of November at www.wama.net.au/art-exhibition

All art works are for sale, and commission from the art works sold supports the WAMA Project.
