While making ‘Pulsating,’ I was exploring the rock formations on the surf Coast of Victoria and was particularly intrigued by the sea anemones that fill their pools. Their ability to survive twice daily battles with the tides and multiply simply by breaking is a testament to the resilience of this incredible creature. So I created tentacled or globular shapes, and then replicated them in one form or another throughout most of the works in this series – floating, surrounded by bubbles, camouflaged.
